The Port of Haifa is the largest, leading port in Israel both in terms of cargo handling and in terms of servicing passenger and tourist ships. The Haifa Port passenger terminal is the only one in Israel from which vacation cruises depart for the wider Mediterranean. Recently Haifa Port has opened up to activities for the general public, beginning with a daily cruises to the Akko Marina, shooting of television content, concerts and events in Hangar 15 and, primarily, preparations for the first stage of opening the Port as part of the municipal waterfront. The Port is operated by the Haifa Port Company, which is committed to continue operating as a growth engine for Israel’s economy.
